25th - 29th June 2024 at Stoke Park

The Final Day Plus Order of Play Confirmed Plus Review of Day 4

Welcome to The Boodles for the final day of what has been a memorable tournament so far.

Today’s line-up sees big-serving American Sam Querrey start of our Finals Day with what should be an entertaining encounter with Serbian star Viktor Troicki. Saturday’s second match features two talented young Dutchmen - and Wimbledon hopefuls - Robin Haase and Thiemo De Bakker.

Doubles always proves popular at The Boodles so it is fitting that the last match to be played of this 2013 tournament will be between Jamie Delgado of Great Britain and his American partner James Cerrentani and the Canadian/Australian pairing of Adil Shamasolin and Rameez Junaid.

Grand Slam champion Juan Martin Del Potro put the finishing touches on his Wimbledon preparations with a competitive match against Richard Gasquet. Del Potro, who won the 2009 US Open, was edged out by Gasquet 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 in a match tiebreaker but afterwards said that he was glad that he made the visit to Stoke Park.

“I think these kind of matches before Wimbledon are nice for the preparation,” said the Argentine. “Richard is a good player and a good guy. The match was really fun and now I’m really excited to start for Wimbledon.”

Friday also saw the return of the breakout star of this year’s event, Grigor Dimitrov, who beat Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz 6-1, 7-6(5). The charismatic 22-year-old has been an instant hit with fans at Stoke Park and it seems that the feeling is mutual. “It’s awesome here,” said Dimitrov, who stripped to the waist for the second match running, much to the delight of female fans on the centre court.

“It’s my second time here because I was here four or five years and and it’s an incredible feeling. It is very well organised, the hospitality and the people are so nice. It’s a good way to get preparation for Wimbledon. I like everything about London. I mean, look at this place - what’s not to like?”

Querrey is looking more and more at home on the grass-courts of Stoke Park. He took on Alexandr Dolgopolov in Friday’s final match, showing his more lighthearted side. Dolgopolov won their match 6-3, 6-4.
