Returning to Stoke Park for his second appearance at The Boodles is 2009 US Open Champion, Juan Martin Del Potro. The six foot six inch Argentine has returned to his best form after missing the entire 2010 season due to a wrist injury sustained. This only weeks after his memorable Grand Slam victory in New York, where he defeated both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Since his Boodles debut last year, "Delpo" has helped Argentina reach the final of the Davis Cup as well as returning to the world's top ten. His remarkable return to the summit of the sport was recognized in November 2011 when he was awarded "ATP Comeback Player Of The Year" at a ceremony held at the o2 arena in London. A gentle giant off the court, Juan Martin is the son of a former semi professional rugby union playing father whilst his mother works as a teacher. We welcome Juan Martin as he looks to complete his preparations for Wimbledon. |

We are delighted to welcome back for his fifth appearance at Stoke Park, charismatic Frenchman Gael Monfils. The twenty five year old former Boodles Champion has been a favourite of fans during the event, with his acrobatic court coverage and explosive hitting enthralling guests. The self confessed basketball fanatic employs a unique brand of exciting tennis, regularly showcasing his slam dunk style leaps to overheads during competition. Sporting excellence runs in the family, as proved in Montpellier earlier this year, where Gael teamed up with brother Daryl to tackle the ATP World Tour as a doubles partnership. "Le Monf" has many interests outside of the tennis court including music and dancing, and appeared in the music video for Martin Solveig's chart topping track "Hello". We wish Gael all the best for the grass court season. |

Making his debut at The Boodles is giant American, John Isner. Having turned professional in 2007 following an extremely successful college career in Georgia, John has taken next to no time to burst onto the world tennis scene. Currently the tallest player on tour, his serve and forehand strike fear into his opponents and have propelled him to the forefront of the games challengers for Grand Slam titles. After winning the longest match in tennis history at Wimbledon 2010 against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, an eleven hour marathon fought out over 3 days, John has become a household name in the United States. A huge basketball fan, he describes Karl Malone as his idol, John would have loved to pursue a career in the sport had his tennis not worked out. We are delighted it did work out, as we welcome him to Stoke Park's lawns for his final Wimbledon preparations. |

In the modern era of powerful groundstroke's and huge serves, it is refreshing to see a new brand of player enjoying success on the professional tennis tour. Enigmatic Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov employs a unique style of play, incorporating a variety of spins, slices, drop shots and lobs into his game that aim to confuse and disrupt his opponents. Compared in the past to the mercurial Fabrice Santoro and Britain's own Andy Murray, "The Dogs" reputation in the game is soaring. He has been surrounded by sporting excellence all his life, as his father was a former tennis professional and his mother an accomplished gymnast. Away from the court, the Kiev native enjoys many different pastimes, ranging from the creation of internet games, to an ambition to be a rally car driver. We welcome Alexandr as he makes his second appearance at The Boodles and wish him all the best for the grass court season. |

It is a pleasure to welcome back for his second appearance at The Boodles, Swiss number two Stanislas Wawrinka. The lawns of Stoke Park are sure to feel the full force of what John McEnroe described as "one of the sweetest backhands in the sport". Stan, as he is known on the tour, has been at the top of the sport for a number of years and is a formidable opponent for anyone on the world. British fans may remember him for being involved in the first ever full match under the roof at Wimbledon, his epic five set encounter with Andy Murray lasting nearly four hours and lasting late into the night. With the London Olympics approaching, Stan will be looking to emulate his fantastic achievement in Beijing 2008 where he won the Gold Medal with partner Roger Federer in the doubles event. Since that Olympic win, Stan has cemented his place in the upper echelons of the sport with strong performances around the world and is definitely a player to watch for the upcoming grass court season. |
